Looks like it is back to the Shoe Leather Express for me. My van just croaked on the way back from Roseville this morning.

So sorry to hear that - by the way I bought a van to move my stuff, a Renault Trafic that kind of fell into my lap, 15 years old but only 100,000 miles and no rust. It has been used by a village shop only for local cash and carry pickups for the last eight years. I hope you can replace yours quickly.

My sympathies. Had to replace an engine on my 1990 Ford Econoline last October.

300,000 miles. Guess it's to the classified ads...

300,000 miles! That is incredible! I thought mine was good for making it almost to 200,000 before I traded it in! Hope you find something affordable soon.

Wow, total bummer Howard! I have been there and done that
. I hope that you can find something to replace it with soon. In the meantime we are here to listen so vent away if it helps
. The kittys send calming purrs and I am sending a "find a good vehicle CHEAP and soon" vibes your way.

Nah It isnt worth rebuilding. It would prob be cheaper to drop another engine in but the Chrysler, dodge, plymouth vans are a glut in this market I can prob replace that with a newer van for 500, 6oo bucks with a little luck.

Thanks Carol, I don't know how easy it will be it isnt the cost that hurts cause cheep vans are fairly easy to find. AROUND HERE IT IS COMING UP WITH THE CASH...LOL THAT IS SO TUFF.Opps sorry didnt see caps. There just isnt a lot left when I pay my bills so We'll just have to see what shakes out. Well I've been without wheels before, it is nowhere close to the end of the world.

Well, you have a great attitude. If we could bottle that and sell it, you would be a millionaire!

With all the recent new car sales-the dealerships throughout the country have a BIG INVENTORY of used vehicles so I think you should be able to get a good deal on a used one.
Good luck.

With gas prices the way they are right now you're probably going to come out WWWWAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY ahead budget-wise for the next few months. When will the weather turn against you where you are?
We're all assuming that the van was paid for, right?

Bummer, Howard! But think how fit you'll be by the time you save up to replace it!
