Just wondering as my trip today set me back another $52.00. Those kids get expensive. :p

Though i might get $15 of that back as they seem to have zero interest in the crinkly bag toy I bought them. I also got the Zoom Groom, a new feather toy since they loved the other one so much they destroyed it, a couple more toys, some litter, and some food.

The average is $45. I don't think I've spend more than $60, though. And the larger spendings were originally supposed to be $20 or so, for one thing (like cat food) but I got sidetracked and added toys and treats.

The typical weekly visit to PetsMart usually comes to $45-$60, though it can go above $100 if something like a cat bed or water fountain is included. Big items like a cat hutch will put that into the $200 range. The most we ever spent was just under $400, that included a $320 hutch.

On average I spend about $150.00 every time I walk in to stupid Petsmart!! Usually about $60 on food, $20 on litter, then of course dog bones, dog toys, cat toys, cat mice, catnip, new beds, etc.... =( That is why I am always broke. For my birthday I just bought the little spoiled brats a new 8ft. tall Cat Tower to add to the three they already have.....

I only get litter from pet stores. We don't have any GOOD pet stores around here, so I order online. I use the "bottomless bowl" thing at petco.com and get his litter sent to me once a week. Everything else I get him comes from other websites, like catsplay.com and ebay.

It's a shame I can't just go get things and not having to pay shipping, but on the other hand there are many, many more things to choose from online!

The average is $35 - even when I vow to be "good"...but I always get unplanned stuff to spoil the cat.

With litter, wet food & dry...plus toys & other odds & ends, I spend about $50 a month.
Dexter & Sadie are worth every penny.

I normally don't go to PetsMart or Petco. I like to support the independent businesses that make my neighborhood unique, so I shop at one of the 5 or 6 "pet boutiques" in my area. Dry food sets me back around 20 a month since neither of my little darlings will eat wet, litter is 30 every 2 months (I get the all mighty giant bag) and then, of course, there are toys. Lots of toys.

There's no place like home
I spend about $100-$120 a week for cat/dog food and litter. Toys or treats are on top of that, which is why I've learned to make their toys and beds. I usually buy treats like greenies and rawhide chews in bulk thru discount online sources.

I totally am into this in all business - but the two I tried near me had a dismal selection - no pouches or cans, and only 2 kinds of dry. The toys and accessories were good though, but I would still have to make another trip to a different store if I went there. They also tend to close on a whim - w/o explanation, so I have no idea if they will be open if I arrive during their posted hours. Harrumph. The other place I tried had a v. poor selection in everything, and the shelves and cans/bags of food were very dirty/dusty. No thanks.

I recently found a smaller-chain store near me that sells the good foods, so I've been only there for the past few months. They have a few cat toys and harnesses, as well as some dog toys and harnesses, but if I need something that the store doesn't have, then I'd go to Petsmart. I love this new store anyways, though, and I want to support it as much as I can. They totally deserve it!

I normally get my cat supplies at a local pet shop (Pet Valu), but I don't spend nearly as much as everyone seems to spend. I spend about $28 a month for 2 cats. Then again, I recently did buy a window sill perch for my cats from petsmart.com so they are getting spoiled!!!
