I ordered 2 bottles of Davinci syrup last week and the other day they were delivered but one of the lids have a hairline crack in it and it had leaked a little into the box. I contacted the company and they are sending a replacement bottle and they don't want the damaged bottle back. So my question is ...would you used the bottle with the damaged lid?

If you are not familiar with DaVinci syrups, here's a link to their site
http://www.davincigourmet.com/729.html?flashdetect=YES

Edit: I was going to make a poll but for some reason it didn't go to the creating a poll page.

I'm always really paranoid when it comes to stuff like that. I won't even use a can that has a dent in it. I'd say no.

They are flavored syrups you can add to coffee, cocoa and lots of other things.

I don't have a problem using dented cans if the contents inside have not been compromised. I would think if the product is leaking out the hairline crack as you stated, then I would hesistate to use it. Does the bottle list the ingredients? I couldn't find a list of ingredients on their website. If you want my vote on this particular situation, I'd vote for "don't use it".

Added your poll for you!

And although the bottles were probably damaged during shipping, I wouldn't take the chance.

Hmmmm - although it probably wouldn't matter, I don't think I would use it. I think we are really indoctrinated NOT to use stuff that could be damaged, tampered with or off, even if we might be overreacting!!

The ingredients are basically cane sugar, water, atrificial and natural flavoring, then a preserative and coloring.

I wouldn't... you just don't know how many freaks there are out there that'd poison it, unfortunately.

Aside from Im not sure you should use it - I must say .. UG! Another thing I simply MUST try! But being pregnant, I cant have my coffee OR tea!
Whats a gal to do?!

I do hope you can fight off the flavor fiend
long enough for a safe new bottle to arrive

I, too, wouldn't use it if it is leaking. You can never be too careful.

Adriane, when I was pregneant the doctor told me that you can have coffee and tea, just try to get the Decaffinated. And once in a while you can have regular.

Definitely not. Can you return it? And off topic, on the pregnancy and coffee thing, I found that although I love the smell of coffee normally, when I was pregnant both the smell and taste made me really nauseous. It took till my daughter was three months old before I could drink it again.

Thanks for your opinions guys, I really appreciate it!!
If the safety seal was broke it would've went right in the trash without a second thought!
I'll throw it out when the replacement bottle arrives. I didn't want to really keep it but it just seems like such a waste to throw out a full bottle!
