I went to the doctor today to have blood drawn to see if I could be pregnant. We just started trying, and I know that it doesnt always happen right away, but giving the fact that I was in such a horrific car accident and broke my pelvis, there was never any guarantees that I could. We don't know what kind of damage my body sustained that would leave an everlasting effect on me. I had a lot of reservations about getting married because I know that my husband wants kids someday, and I was and still am terrified that I can't deliver that for him. He assured me that it was okay.
So, here I am, about a week late, home test says not pregnant. But I am usually on time. Had some spotting here and there. So, I called the doctor and they recommended that I come in and get a blood test to be sure. They also said I could be miscarrying.
Now, I am even more scared that theres something more serious wrong with me, that I am not pregnant, and that I can't ever be pregnant.
I get the results back tomorrow. Please send some vibes if you have any. The hardest part is telling my husband that there isn't a baby and that there may never be. If there isnt, and theres nothing wrong with me, than we will keep trying. Until then, I have to deal with this nagging worry.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate it.

Many good vibes coming your way. Remember, the more stressed you are, the harder it will make it to get pregnant. I stressed for a time and when I finally calmed down I was pregnant before I knew it! I hope everything goes well. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for you. The doctors told my mother that she couldn't ever have kids and well, here I am, so there is still hope. Please let us know how things turn out.

Not being able to have a baby someday is one of my biggest (irrational) fears. I feel for you, I really do.
I hope it's very, very good news.

I knew a woman who was told for 20 years that she couldn't get pregnant and she ended up giving birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl! There's always hope!

Try to stay positive! Stress and negative thoughts are detrimental.

It sounds like you have a very supportive husband, and you are lucky for that. But of course you still want a child. You may need to practice some patience in getting pregnant. (That will come in handy when your child turns two!)

The home kits are usually pretty accurate, but of course the blood test by the doctor is more accurate. If you recently went off the pill, that may affect the regularity of your menses. And if you were on the pill for many years, it can take a while for your fertility to come back.

It is very scary to want something (or someone) so bad, and to have no control over making it happen. I hope there is a way you can give yourself some time. Making a baby is totally out of your hands, just try to enjoy your relationship with your husband. Within 12 months, you may be pregnant, no telling how far along. This may be the last alone time the two of you have for a while.

Being able to share your feelings with us is a great way to practice letting your husband know what is going on in your head. This is a perfect time for him to support you! Here is hoping you have really great news!

If you would like to chat with women going thru a similar experience go to
www.everybody.co.nz there's a chat site there that is very supportive.
Not just for Kiwis!
I knew a lady who because of a shattered pelvis when younger had her baby by c-section, so it can be done
