ever vote on your own caption in caption this?

Only if someone else has already voted on it. Otherwise I normally vote for the winning caption.

i vote on mine if i truly think it's the best but this doesn't happen very often, there are always some very good one's...better than mine

I read them and mentally keep check of the ones that make me laugh, and then choose between them (usually three or four) as to the one i want to win. Sometimes mine is in it, sometimes it isnt. I have a strange sort of humor so often I find mine funnier than others.

Why submit a caption of your own if you don't think it's the best one? I haven't submitted any captions yet, but if I did, I'd certainly vote for my own.

And as someone else here mentioned, I don't see any point in just voting for the winning caption. Unless, of course, you really do think it's best. What's the purpose of voting if not to express what you really think.

Well, of course, that's supposed to be the nature of a vote. The voter has the freedom to waste it or vote against oneself, in a free country, anyway. I just don't understand it, that's all.

Sometimes before it even comes time to vote on a caption, I'll have already seen a funny caption submitted, or a caption similar to what I was thinking of. Most of the time, in that situation, I won't even submit my own caption or try to come up with a different caption. Recently, there was a captionthis picture, that had a bunch of cats piled on the bed, and as soon as I saw it, I thought, "Where's Waldo?" and scrolled down, and saw that someone else already beat me to it.
