My sweet sweet Josephine, as some of you may know from other posts, was a feral cat until recently. We know she is slightly over a year old, that she has never had affectionate human contact before us, and is slightly paranoid. She also has large, protruding nipples -- I've heard it said that this means the cat has likely given birth. Is there any (fairly) definitive way to tell if a cat has given birth in the past? I'm kind of curious if my sweet young Jojo was a mother to any little kitties at any point!

If she is outside and not spayed, most likely she has had at least one litter of kittens! Think of what you have saved her from!
You could have a vet look her over.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Jo's been to the vet's a couple times to make sure she's entirely healthy, and goes in for the last time (for a while I hope) on Saturday to get the rest of her shots. Perhaps I'll ask him then.
