Well, it has been several hours now since we got home from the vets and neither Jasper nor Tia will have anything to do with "mean mommy". The only positive thing is that they have curled up together on "jasper's pillow" but neither wants anything to do with me
. It seems so quiet and empty without having them frolicing through the house playing and coming to me for pets
. I hope they forgive me tomorrow, I can't take much of this.
I guess they are both feeling bad from their shots and mad at me, it hard being a "mean mommy".

And kitties are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good at driving that point home. Poor Carol!
Your babes will love you just fine, once they've taught you your lesson.

That's how CJ and Mirah are... Billy and Annie just don't care, but CJ and Mirah never let you forget it!

I've been on that bench before - it sure is uncomfortable!
When I am gone out of town for more than a day or so, I become invisible to JC - he can neither hear, see or feel me - I simply don't exist!! It's very amusing to watch - I can even gently push him to the ground, but he doesn't acknowledge my touch or existence in any way. After I show sufficient sadness, he suddenly comes bounding over & greets me with head-butts, licks & purrs. Hope you get off the bench soon!

I remember the first time I brought home a foster litter. Lukey was so mad He wouldn't talk to me for a week except to cuss me out and hiss at me. He never once made a bad or threatening move toward the kittens but he was calling me everything but a child of God. But he finally got used to the idea and realized that he was still the #1 cat in the house. Now when I bring fosters in he just looks disgusted for a day or so and says something like how long is this bunch of freeloaders gonna be around? lol

Don't worry - I'm sure they're exhausted after the day you guys had. They will forgive you. Especially when you ply them with deli turkey. Cooked poultry always breaks the ice.

After I went away for a few days, Petunia would stay exactly 5 feet away from me for at least a day. Then she would allow me to approach her. She could really hold a grudge.

Here are some temporary purrs from my girls to help you out.

I've probably told this story somewhere on this site before. maybe more than once, but for what it's worth...

I went away for Christmas one year, when Rob and I were an item, but not yet living under the same roof. Shasta was quite accustomed to his being around and staying overnight, and so while I was away, he spent several nights at my place, despite the fact that my landlord who lived upstairs would have been happy to tend all of Shasta's needs.

The night I arrived home, Rob picked me up at the airport and drove me home. I don't remember which of us opened the door, but there was Shasta. She looked straight at me. She made eye contact. Then she went very ostentatiously to Rob and made the world's biggest fuss over him, and continued to do so all evening, the while completely ignoring me.

The message couldn't have been clearer: Oh! So you decided to come home, did you? Well, I know who MY friends are!

The following day she was fine and fussing over Mum as usual. They're so good at this! Little monsters!

Awwww!!! They'll come back to you eventually!

When i went to mexico I phoned my mom and she told me every day they were always wanting extra attention, and when they werent in my room sleeping on my stuff, they were sitting in the three seasons porch looking towards the end of the driveway, waiting for me to come home.

When I finally came home, I expected to be bowled over by kitties but instead they looked at me like they didnt know me. They ran when I came near them, though they would raise their tails up and their bums would magnetically attract to whatever was near them. They wouldnt let me touch them at all the first day. The second day I was feelign kind of down and what do I get? Elliot jumps up in my lap and lays on me, and since aerowyn didnt do it first she slept next to me.

*(Food also works too!)*

How could God pack so much guilt in such a little package???

It's just funny how they can do those guilt trips on us, but it doesn't work the other way around!!
Glad to hear they finally forgave you!!!
How many treats did it take?

Actually no treats....Jasper was so miserable after a while that he came and cryed and put his face against my leg for me to pet him
. Then Tia followed him into the living room and I picked her up and put her in hubs lap where she continued her "mommy doesn't love ME anymore, she LET them hurt me, what did I do to make her stop loving me?"looks, then when he had to get up she SHREIKED when he tried to put her down so he gave her to me and she cuddled up under my chin but she wouldn't purr
. But later on she snuggled up to me and purred a little...so I was actually forgiven last night but it still feels rotten when they think you betrayed them....yuk
