Are you a bug squisher or do you catch and release?

We've had a few bug related threads lately and I was wondering how everyone felt when it comes to bugs. I am not a good person when it comes to bugs. If Oscar doesn't eat it before I see it, I squish it. I hate them! Yuck!! How do you feel about creepy crawly things???

Catch and release, the only exception is potentially deadly things like the widows and recluse spiders.
Don't want to take the chance of anything, person or pet, getting bit.

I didn't answer because it all depends.... Crickets, moths, rolly pollys, beetles, and anything that doesn't "look" mean or gross I will catch and release. But spiders, or roaches, or other scary looking bugs get squashed!

Same here! Unless my kitties get them first, they eat moths which are evidently quite tasty.

Depends on the bug.

I couldn't answer, either, because it depends on the bug.
IF I get enough courage to go near them, I squish cockroaches as if I'd never squished before!

With most other bugs, though (large spiders being the exception), I try to catch and release.

If it is a moth or butterfly I usher them out so they dont waste their tiny lifespan indoors.
If it is a fly I usher out because of bacteria.
If its a beetle or crawly thing I let them walk on paper and put outside..

Spiders.. if they are in a sink or bath or on my sisters wall *rolls eyes*
I take them outside.. but usually I leave them where they are because they catch flies and aren't doing any harm.

Wasps and bees, I just open the windows and close the door and hope they fly out lol

I'm terrible at work
I always clean around the black beetles that are always in the pens, and can never seem to just hose insects down a drain, I have to swish them out.. I just don't like seeing anything struggling for life.

And squishing.. I just don't see the point..

I know.. I'm a softy lol

This is why I can't have reptiles
I think crickets are so handsome

I always squish them. I just don't like seeing any bugs in my life.

I think crickets are so gross!

The only exceptions is if I can get an available male to squish for me. And I generally leave bugs that are outside all alone-but inside? SQUISH!

Thanks AbbeyCat for the assist! I'm just not as kind to the bugs as you!

I didn't vote on any

Sometimes I squish and other times I release them - it just depends on what mood I am in and what type of bug it is!

Exactly - me too!!
I always try first, then if I do end up killing it I apologize profusely to it!

Ooops! I guess I should've put an "it depends on the bug" option. Oh well. I should add that I don't kill bugs as long as they're outside. If they trespass into my home though, I am that bug's worst nightmare!!!
Actually, the cats are probably their worst nightmare

Depends on the bug. Most of the time I just let nature run its course and figure the cats (Gracie in particular) will handle it. I can't bring myself to squish any bug. If it's a roach, I either run for cover or, if I'm feeling really brave and the cats aren't around, go crazy with the bug spray.

I'll usually relase anything, but I let spiders stay in my house (They kill 'bad bugs') and I always kill roaches.
