We adopted Carly in February and overall, the three cats are doing great. They can hang out in the same room, are sniffing noses and every once in awhile, there is some hissing.
The only thing that is bugging me is that Lucy is always going up to Carly and swatting at her. A couple of days ago, Carly was sleeping in a chair and Lucy just suddenly whacked her a few times, hissing, then left. Carly was left with this expression of "what the blankety-blank just happened".
There haven't been any fights and the two will stalk and chase each other. They are skittish of one another at other times.
Those of you who have had multi-cat household, can you give me an idea of where this might lead? I'm assuming that Lucy is trying to assert some sort of dominance. Is she going to work herself out of this?
BTW - Lucy is 2 and Carly is 3.
