Well, he's a pet and he's covered in fuzzy stuff, so I thought I'd put him in Fur Pictures Only....

My older nephew used to have one as a pet about 15 years ago. One time it escaped!
Found it in the closet!

I will never allow anything like that in my house. I'm scared stiff of them.

If I ever see one of those I will fall over dead. No offense, but they scare the crap out of me.

Fuzzy's a girl?! Never knew that! Chilean Rose, but the colors on her arn't as vibrant as they used to be, it's due to shed it's exoskeleton any time now. It hasn't in quite a while.

Spiders are easy, mature females have a huge abdomen, while males are generally smaller, and looked starved by comparison.

I actually read somewhere that tarantulas make quite good pets - do they have personalities?

And I know I am going to regret asking this - but what do you feed Fuzzy??

Fuzzy eats crickets, and sadly the occasional pinky-mouse.

Tarantulas can have personailties, but unless you have other tarantulas around, you'd never know it.
They aren't exactly a hands on pet.
Their bite isn't dangerous (unless you have an allergy), but it hurts pretty bad, and new world species like Fuzzy here also have ululating hairs.
That it, usually when threatened, they kick hairs from their abdomen and back legs at you.
These hairs are like fiberglass, and can be quite painful and dangerous if they get in your face.

They are also pretty fragile and can be injured quite badly if they startle and fall.

But they are just has great of an ornamental pet as fish are, probably better as there is even less maint. to do.

Not a pet I would choose -- mainly because I'm not much interested in ornamental pets, fish included -- but very attractive, nonetheless. Neat pics.
