Fleas?

We just got a six week old little dude from a friends farm. We took him to the vet and he checked out fairly well - just a small eye infection. Since bringing him home, we've noticed he has what looks like dandruff - little white particles all over his fur. I'm wondering if its just dandruff, or if I'm dealing with flea nits. Thanks!

Are the little white flakes stuck to the hair shaft or are they free falling around? Stuck to the hair shaft, they are probably a nit(egg) of some kind. Do not panic if it turns out to be lice nits, the cat lice does not like you as a host, and prefers to stay off of you! There is no risk you can pick these up! Adams Flea and tick spray is also great for lice, I had a whole barn full of lice infested cats, and between Adams spray and Adams powder it took care of them. I find lice is easier to rid than fleas!

I brushed at his fur and the little white things stubbornly refused to move. So, lice it is. Off to Petcetera...

Sounds like dandruff. Flea eggs are black.
