introducing kittens to food

My Tammy's babes are now four weeks old and although 2 of the 4 will happily eat off my finger they wont eat themselves from the dish.

How can I get them to eat as mum cat is in dire need of a break from all the nursing, poor little love!

Also only one has managed to ue the litter box by himself, I was quite impressed as it is a covered adult box, i have a little litter tray but he coped just fine in the adult one!

4 weeks is when they just start experimenting with solid food. They won't be ready to stop nursing altogether for another 6-10 weeks.

Just keep offering canned and dry food as you have done for Tammy all along. The kittens will start eating solids when they are ready, which will be within the next week or two. Have no fear - you will not have 6-month-olds who still won't eat cat food!

Have you tried watering down the food so they can lap it up instead of chewing? that worked for me.

I also had one kitty that used the big litter instead of the baby one.
