one of our cat's, snoop, has tapeworms. i just found one prowling around his nether region. when we call the vet to get him treated, should we also be worried about his brother/housemate, django? does anyone have experience with whether tapeworms can be passed from one cat to another?

thanks.

Take them both to be treated. We once adopted a dog that had tapeworms, and he managed to infect the four other dogs and the cat. All we did was pooper scoop and pour bleach on the spots, and it took us weeks, and numerous vet visits, to get them all free of worms.

Treating for tapeworms isn't all that big a deal. Just treat them both. It'll be easier and cheaper than testing to find out if the other cat needs deworming or not.
