Hey Natasha....I used to give the kittens both wet and dry food....I bought the small cans of wet food and actually went through 2 a day (mainly because mom was also eating the wet and dry food).

At 4 weeks old, they should be offered moist food three times per day and you can split it up in 8 hours increments. Dry food should be kept down and fresh at all times for those who like to graze throughout the day. And of course, always offer clean, fresh water at all times.

but i am using cat wet food, not kitten wet food, is that bad? um... also, i put kmr mixed in the food and i leave the food out 5 times a day and let them eat whatever they want and then when they are done i clean out the bowl (so it doesn't dry out!?!?!) so is that ok????

Use kitten moist canned food, preferably the pate-style and leave the KMR out of it. If you need to make it goopy'er (gee, is that even a word?? *grin*) then add just a small amount of warm water.

If getting to a pet store for Kitten food is a problem, Iams canned kitten food is readily available at grocery stores.
