I'll admit to being a bit of a snob about chocolate. I don't have much use for the checkout candy rack stuff. My local favourite chocolate shop uses only the best imports, and makes pretty wonderful stuff. There are no mistakes in that shop, and I'll happily eat any of it, but the order of my preference will always be dark, then milk, then white. Really good truffles can't be beat, but really good plain chocolate is pretty wonderful, too. Fruit and nuts and mint and whatnot are OK, but not necessary. The bar that I keep a supply of in my office is Lindt Excellence 70% cocoa. Then I don't have to fork out a buck for a bar of...no I won't even try to find an appropriate word.

Wow I'm in the minority... I love white chocolate. That being said, I love most British chocolate (the best kind) but if I had a choice... *drools*

Movin' on up!
Dark is my favorite but, I won't turn down milk. There is always a bag of chocolate candy in my desk drawer. My coworkers know where to come, for a fix.

Last week, Walgreen's had Triple Chocolate KitKat Miniatures AND Double Chocolate Hershey's Kisses on sale. I added a bag of assorted Herhsey's Nuggets and the week has gone fairly well.

dark chocolate is by far my favorite, white chocolate i can definitely do without. as for all the other kinds, i'm usually pretty open to whatever's around. of course the fact that i've been able to get my hands on good european chocolate in the past really makes hersey's second-rate.

I don't often eat chocolate - but when I do I enjoy milk chocolate. My favourite chocolate in the whole world is Terry's Orange chocolate
, but unfourtunately you can't get it over here.

Danielle I was so sad when I was told I actually cried - trust the darn hormones

But I did lots of research and turns out you can have a max of 300mg of cafeine per day during pregnancy. And yay most choc (except dark choc) only contain between 5 - 15mg caffeine per average size bar. But I am not pigging out but I do indulge a bit on the weekends.

Under the cats, mostly.
Nice... I'll admit I'm a chocoholic. I'll eat all of it bar the white chocolate and coffee creams. For the very, very best... give me dark chocolate orange creams, or the dark chocolate strawberry creams. But the really expensive stuff!
You guys are makin me drool!
Don't you listen to anything midwives will tell you, most of them don't ahve kids of their own anyway. I was told i coudln't eat grapes, or nuts, or curry or chocolate. Well boo to them I say, and I did eat all of those things, in moderation of course, and my son came out with no allergies. He only had an allergy to additives - possibly because I was on nothing but organic food the whole time, but that's easy overcome. They also tell you that you're not to sleep with your baby on your chest... and to hang with that as well. I did it with Alex. It's good for the bonding process - especially seeing as I didn't even get to hold him for the first few hours of his life, because they whipped him away from me. You do what you feel is right, and I'll say this, instincts are better than anything you could ever be taught.

oh thank goodness for that - I have been eating chocolate for the whole pregnancy. I knew about the intake of caffeine but never once thought of that connection to chocolate
No way I would have got close to that max amount of cafeine

oh well nevermind, too late now anyway - I only have 4 weeks to go
- looks like baby obes might be addicted to chocolate as well

LOL yeah, any kid of mine will be an addict as well.

But here is an intersting thing: A finnish study a few years ago found that babies of women who indulged in chocolate were happier, friendlier and just all round healthier. Now there might be a connection or not but hey I am all for giving it a go.

I can't stand chocolate with mint in it or chocolate with coffee flavour!

I'm going to pick up some chocolate when I go to North City this afternoon!
