LOL! I have what one might call a morbid interest in crime, serial killers and related topics. My aim when I finish medicine is to go into forensics as this will combine two of my great interests in life into one career.

Max's mother thinks that the serial-killer interest is a tad disconcerting, and sent me the following email, which, incidentally, I got right

I personally think it's not true at all (of course) and much more of a lateral thinking test...

Anyone else around here get this?

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met this guy whom she did not know.

She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for
his number and could not find him.

A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

{Give this some thought before you answer!}

Answer:

She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again.

If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer.

Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.

Like I said - probably rubbish but a good riddle!

I got it right as well. But killing is not something i would do. heck i cry if i step on my cats tail! lol.

But like you I have a fasanation with forensics, and related topics, I am always watching Forensic files, cold case files...The first 48..ect, as well as reading that type of book, fiction and non alike.

I highly reccomend the book Dead Men do tell tales if you havent read it already.

I would also tell your MIL..that just about any FBI Profiler probably would have gotten that correct as well. its their job to think like a killer...more times than not the old adage is true. to catch a crimminal you have to think like one.

Yes - right you are. She's a great lady actually we're good friends - I'm pretty sure she was just teasing me...lol.

I will definitely get that book sounds interesting - and there's a GREAT website - crimelibrary.com - that has some really, really interesting stories on it.

i find all of that stuff fascinating as well, and would likely have gone to school for forensic pathology if it weren't for the fact that i'm a bit squeamish when it comes to blood and guts and stuff. reading about it doesn't usually bother me, but actually seeing it i can't handle. oh yeah, and i got the question right. i think i had the answer almost before i finished reading the question, i guess that makes me a psychopath, huh? lol. my husband too.

Yes, its rubbish, but fun!!! That one has been going around for years..
I first heard it about 15 years ago when I was young and in high school

I had much fun questioning all my friends on it...

I also love crime stories, but usually the old ones from mid 20 century and back..There is a good Canadian crime writer who specializes (Max Haines) and its neat to see how they solved crimes without much forensic knowledge at all..
Can you imagine all the stuff people got away with though so long ago?? Ack.

I like foremaics too. Even before med school, I wanted to get into the path (pathology) lab and see an autopsy!! Now I tend to attend autospies in my work and while it may be more routine and inttrsucive, it hardly classifies as fun!

Oh, I don't like dead bodies! I can watch surgeries on people, or even have provided care for patients as they died, but an autopsy? Ugh!

And I don't like those shows, although I have read some interesting books about real serial killers and criminals like Charles Manson.

Hah! I was going to mention that website. Funny. I can spend hours there easily.

I got it right, too, but just because you CAN think like a psychopath ...

I see where that is coming from, though. If you actually did something like that, you would be displaying a psychopathic inability to empathize with another person.
