It's the same for me EVERY morning no matter how many good resolutions I try to make.

0645: Alarm goes off, press snooze
0654: Alarm goes off, press snooze
0703: Alarm goes off, press snooze

(This continues every nine minutes until...)

0806: Alarm goes off, kind of wake up, look at the time, do a quick mental calculation, `No, I can do another nine minutes'. Press snooze.

0815: As above
0824: As above
0833: As above

0842: Finally get up. Freak out. Feed cats. Feed dog. Get dressed. Dash hair back into ponytail. Wash face. Look at clock 0855 AAAAARGH!!!

Hop into car.

Get to work 0907.

Order soy latte.

Check TCS.

Start work...

What's yours?

Much like yours!!!

Alarm is set for 6am to do studying I never did the night before.

Alarm goes off at 6am. Hit nap button 3 times to tell alarm to go off in 30 minutes.
CJ goes nuts because he heard the alarm and comes barreling into my room and starts trying to play. Get up throw cat out of room, shut door. it is now 615. Lay down until alarm goes off again. Hit nap button twice, now 650. Decide I can survive without studying, turn off alarm A and turn on alarm B which is set for 730. At 7 CJ starts scratching the door and meowing, I ignore him and doze. When alarm goes off at 730 things go one of two ways. I will either get up and get ready or if I went to bed late the night before keep hitting snooze until about 830. 830 jump out of bed, throw up hair into some kind of pony tail or bun or hat, jump into random clothes, speed the 1.5 miles to campus, walk quickly to class and spend the first 10 minutes trying to cool off.

Get up, usually between 6am and 9am, get dressed, make the bed, go pee.
Turn on computer and make coffee.
Go outside and smoke while the dog does his thing.
Enjoy two cups of coffee while reading the various forums I visit (this takes about 2 hours).
Eat brekky, smoke, get the birds up, feed all the animals.
Work for 2-3 hours at my computer, watch tv or read.
6pm put the birds to bed, do my housework, get dinner started.
7:45 pm wake the lump that is my fiance', get him dressed and fed and ship him off to work, 9pm till bedtime is spent goofing off.

I'm up at 5:30 feeding the horses
Muck out the stalls, fill up the water troughs, put the fly masks on the beasts- medicate racer and put down more bedding in the stalls. Then it is a good belly scratch for both of them
Straighten up the tack room
Then it's a walk to the creek with Vader to run off some of his energy before letting him in the main part of the house where the kittens are
Feeding the cats in the enclosure comes next
Feeding the outside cats follows
Then it is inside to feed the kittens
Feed Vader
Shower change clothes
Start our breakfast
Clean kitchen
Sit down at computer to work

Sarah, I thought I was the only one that set my clock for 2 hours before I had to be awake to get ready, just cuz I keep hitting the snooze.

Still Hittin' 'Em Right Between The Eyes
I posted this back in May and honestly, things around here do not change, so here it is again ... sorry in advance for the length.

*beep beep beep* The alarm goes off and another day has begun ... off to the kitchen I must stumble to make the morning coffee. But first, I must get out of bed.

Ever so gently, so as not to disturb Lexus, who is sleeping stretched out long and flat against my back, I turn back the covers and perform gymnastics in order to have my feet reach the floor. *sigh* Lexus lifts her head and yawns so I hold my position until she again settles. Holding my breath, I wait for her to put her head back down. My feet swing over the side of the mattress ... and Lexus, now fully awake, jumps to the floor in front of me.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I reach for my sweatpants. Lexus jumps back up onto the bed - could it be she isn't ready to get up yet??? *sigh* No. I try to pull on my sweatpants while Lexus walks over my legs with paws that need clipping. She purrs ... I cringe as little razor-sharp claws pierce my thighs.

I stand upright and Lexus again jumps to the floor between my feet, weaving in and out, around and back through again. I reach for the wall to steady myself so I don't trip over her. Just two or three more feet and I can get to the door to open it. Lexus continues weaving, I continue holding onto the wall for support.

There, finally I am at the door. Lex raises up on the door to stretch and to hurry my progress, effectively preventing me from opening the door, then more weaving and wall-grabbing.

The door finally comes open and I begin walking through only to find myself again grabbing for the wall as Lexus darts through my feet and up my Ranch-O-Rama Bowling Alley style hallway, for all the world sounding like an entire herd of African elephants. Whoever said that cats have velvet paws ... did not own any.

The bathroom is the first stop, must address my morning needs. Lexus insists upon supervising as though I had not been successfully potty'ing for nearly 46 years, jumping up onto my lap as I do my "business". Her paw pads are like ice and her claws make holes in my skin but I cannot deny her. I finish and stand to flush ... Lexus jumps onto the seat to make 100% absolutely certain the water all goes down the hole. Once satisfied that it has, down she comes and pads not so silently to the door, meowing for me to hurry on now. Again, she raises up to stretch and blocks me from opening the door until she is done.

The door opens and yet again, I am forced to abruptly grab for the wall to keep my balance as she darts through my feet and runs noisily up the hallway towards the kitchen.

Tonka greets us as we enter the living room - braying his Good Mornings at the top of his little Blue Point lungs. A small detour to his cage for a quick chin-scritch while Lex jumps up onto the top of his cage, reaching through the bars to pat him on the head. I put her on the floor.

Finally, now a full fifteen minutes after the alarm has gone off, I make it to the kitchen. Lexus happily chases a moth that was stupid enough to fly by her face. I remove the coffee pot from the maker and begin filling it with cold water. Lex jumps onto the sink in hot pursuit of the ill-fated moth and splashes cold water all over the front of me. I put her on the floor. She again finds the moth and sniffs it, sucessfully allowing it to become stuck to her nose. She sneezes, blowing now dead moth and cat snot onto my feet. I reach for the paper towels to clean up the mess as Lexus jumps back onto the counter to bat at the roll as I tear off a sheet. Moth and cat snot are balled up into the paper towel and I turn to put same into the trash bin. Lex jumps onto the top of the bin and stands there meowing at me as if to say, "Hey! Gimme back my moth!" I put her on the floor and dispose of the towel.

Turning back, I open the cabinet to retrieve the coffee can and Lexus jumps up onto the counter and then into the cabinet. I put her on the floor. I get the coffee can and before I can close the cabinet, Lexus is back inside of it. I put her on the floor. I fill the coffee maker and push the on button. Lexus returns to sit on the counter top to watch me and again I put Lexus on the floor.

I shuffle over to the buffet where the cat food bowls are kept and retrieve two along with a can of cat food and a fork. Lexus gets inside the buffet. I put her on the floor. Lexus gets into the flatware drawer, I put her on the floor. Turning around, I reach over to place the bowls, can and fork on the counter top as Lexus weaves in and out, around and back again through my feet. I grab the counter for support. I get the can open just as Lexus jumps up onto the counter and then onto the top of my head. I put her on the floor.

One bowl is now filled and I turn to put it down for Lexus, who has jumped back up onto the counter behind me and is now happily eating the remainder of the food straight from the can. I put Lexus AND her bowl on the floor. I fill Tonka's bowl and start to walk back into the living room. Lexus runs between my feet and I nearly tumble over, almost spilling Tonka's bowl.

I shuffle (can't walk or else risk stepping on delicate cat feet) to Tonka's cage and open the door to place his bowl on the shelf. Lexus jumps to the top of his cage and reaches through the bars to again pat him on the head. Tonka hisses and swats at her while my arm is inside the cage. Lovely long, deep red furrows suddenly appear down my arm. *sigh* I place the bowl onto the shelf and take my right arm out just in time to catch Tonka before he jumps out of the cage in hot pursuit of Lexus, who I have - yes, you guessed it - put on the floor.

I close the cage door and Tonka begins eating. Lexus jumps up onto the side of the cage, hanging SpiderMan style. She reaches a dainty little Seal Point paw in to snag a pawful of Tonka's breakfast even though she has her own and has chosen to ignore it. Tonka brays his protest and I put Lex on the floor. She pads into the kitchen behind me and returns to her bowl, noisily slurping the gravy out and leaves the chunks for a treat to be enjoyed later.

I fill my coffee mug and watch the sun rise. All is as it should be with my world this morning.

This has been my routine for the past week and will probably be similar for my new job (tho hopefully I'll wake up not at 3am)....

Alarm goes off at 3:22am. I groan and immediately beat up my clock to make it shut up. Jordan, sleeping next to me, moves around a bit and I look at him all cozied up against me and wish I could go back to sleep.

3:39am... the alarm goes again. I drag myself out of bed, throw some clothes on and then try to leave the room without Jordan coming out... usually doesn't work. All 3 cats follow me upstairs to the bathroom, hoping I'll put food in their bowls.

3:40-3:55am or so I get ready: brush my teeth, do my makeup... as the cats go in and out of my legs, Jordan meows at me, etc.

3:55am. I was supposed to leave now but by this time I make my way downstairs and make myself either OJ or strawberry milk. At this point Jordan's wide awake and meowing up the storm... waking up my (luckily) still asleep fiance.

4:05am. I'm late but it's 4am so I don't care. I kind of toss Jordan away from me (he wants to come with me and I worry he's a flight risk, lol) as I grab my stuff and run out the door... I drive to work, trying to not fall asleep... I get to work at like 4:15 or so and am one of the first ones there. Waaaaah.

3am Get woken up by purring kitten. Put him (whichever one it is) on the floor and go back to sleep.
4am Get woken by purring kitten. Again, put him on the floor and go back to sleep.
5am Get woken by purring kitten. Pull duvet over head and go back to sleep.
6am Get woken by purring kitten, that is now more persistent as it's full daylight outside
6.30am Get woken by purring kitten. Finally give in and pet them both for about 10 minutes til the alarm goes off
6.45am Call now playing kittens into the kitchen for a bowl of cat milk
6.50am Go into bathroom, closely followed by two kittens who then jump into the bath and play (God knows what it sounds like to my downstairs neighbours!)
06.50 - 7am Take one kitten out of the bath and place on bed, return for other kitten as first kitten follows and jumps back in bath. Remove second kitten and place him on the bed, cover with duvet, bring back first kitten and let him jump on his brother (the lump) under the duvet.
7am Have shower whilst kittens play and discover the loo roll holder.
7.10am Get out of shower and avoid stepping on the shredded loo paper all over the bathroom floor
7.30am After getting dressed etc, go back to kitchen and put fresh food down for kittens. Clean litter tray.
7.45am Either have breakfast or play with kittens (more often than not the furry cuteness wins!)
08.10am Leave for work
08.30am Get to work

Every hour thereafter is filled by me drinking coffee and yawning due to the sleep deprevation. I'm hoping that they'll grow out of it, or at least learn that waking me up before daylight leads to them being put on the floor!

Bathroom to wash and brush teeth.

Go downstairs followed by the girls to switch the alarm off.
