My beautiful chocolate persian, Chloe will be euthanized tomorrow
She has been plagued with arthritis for a while now and has fought a valiant fight. Medications are no longer working and x-rays reveal it is worse. Because I had to work late today, she is sedated tonight and I go in tomorrow to say goodbye. I'm just besides myself with grief.

Chloe is the most amazing cat ever. No matter who came to visit she was right there to greet them. Any dog or cat that came home to live with us (their were many) she accepted with no problems at all. She is lovable and sweet and doesn't deserve this pain.

I just wanted to share how precious my little girl is with others that understand. I will miss her so much.

Aw! I'm so sorry to hear.... I know how hard of a decision it is to make, but you're doing the right thing - it's hard not to be selfish and do what's best for our little friends... your kitty is very beautiful and I'm sure she knows she is loved and that you are doing the best thing for her...

I'm sorry to hear it - I know "moms and dads" know best - although it's never easy. I only had to do this for our dog, we were fortunate to have our cat make it almost 22 yrs. and she went in my arms - but we did have to do that for our dog - and I know how heartbreaking it can be. Just realize you are doing what is best (and personally, people should be able to do the same w/themselves).

She will cross the Rainbow Bridge - maybe she'll find my Brandy - a lover of all others also. I'll put in a word.. Hugs.....

I'm so sorry that you have to do this. You are such a strong and very loving mommy to do this for your kitty. She loves you!

Poor Chloe
There was absolutely nothing black about Chloe. She might of been a rusty chocolate but NO black.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and support. You have no idea how much it means to me.

Well it of course was very difficult this morning. Chloe came into my arms and was purring and happy. I just wanted to scoop her up and run out the door. She also had a "loopy" look in her eyes so I know the reason for her happiness was she was still under the effect of the torbegesic pain reliever given the night before. So while it was hard saying goodbye while she looked happy, I remember how much pain she was in yesterday. For the first time ever yesterday she bit me. I reviewed the x-rays with the my vet and asked her would she euthanize if this were her cat? She is a kind and compassionate vet so I trust her. She said yes she would.

Chloe and I always shared a very close connection and she would always lock her eyes with mine and give me a special look. I'm very sad that this really didn't happen because of the pain meds she was on. I think she knew I was there because she started purring immediately. This is just my own selfish feelings. It only matters that Chloe was happy and comfortable in the end right? Thanks to my wonderful vet, her passing was very peaceful.

I miss her so much already

My heart goes out to you for your great loss. Chloe was a beautiful girl, and from your posts it is clear that her soul is even more beautiful than her physical self.

Out of great respect for Chloe and your deep grief, I'll now move this to Crossing the Bridge.
