I am located in southern California.
I have two cats. The older one is very vocal. She talks to me frequently. My younger cat, 14 weeks old, female, Brandy, only meows when she's hungry, agitated, or communicating with Pearl. Brandy is a medium long-hair calico. Will she change her meowing habits as she gets older? She's spayed. She stares when she wants to be picked up or if something is wrong with her water bowl, for instance. Is this a calico habit, the quiet cat?

I've noticed my cats meowing changing over time, I suspect yours will, too.

And some cats just aren't as vocal as others.
One of mine will meow frantically for your attention and the other only chirrups when he is coming towards you for love..He is the silent "starer" at dinnertime
