Recently inspired by Rhonda's "Show Your Fridge" thread but too embarrased to post mine...
..... I thought it might be fun to share some little things you have around your place that you have always loved. Here are mine....

The little teeny Cola train about the length of a finger

And my very, very, favorite night light. You cannot really it see it well in the picture, but it's amazing the detail this thing has. I am fascinated by it and often stare at it wishing I was in that little house on the cliff

Cute idea!!

My favorite things include statues and artwork- these are my favorites. I also have a series of collectable plates that have on them Kim McElroy's Shadow Dancer series of an Arabian Stallion. (but they are already packed)Shadow Dancer

This statue is in memory of my granny who passed away in Jan 04.

This is a bad picture...it looks beautiful at night when it has the lights shining down on it.

*I just posted links to these cuz they contain a little (upper)female nudity
I finally started my collection of Alberto Vargas artwork. This is the first peice i bought.
Memories of Olive
I am currently a few thousand dollars short,
but I am working on saving for this peice. When I get it... It will no doubt be my absolute favorite!
Sleeping Beauty

So, those are all my favorite things!

My absolute favourite thing we have is our Kneeded Angel collection. It's mostly my aunt's, but I've gotten most of them for her!

My favourite one is the Shop-a-holic Angel ~ it fits us so well as we both love to shop!

Another one of my fave things is this crystal cat ~ I had bought it for a friend for Christmas but decided I really liked it. Needless to say, she got something else!

And my last favourite thing is this clock we have in the kitchen. I just thought it was so cool when my aunt bought it!

I don't know why I'm so attached to this thing..but if I ever broke it, it would break my heart..I keep my candles/wax tarts in it.

FAvourite things, eh? Most of mine are on walls...

An embossed etching picked up in a stall in an alley in Old Quebec City in July 1985...

Needlework (long stitch) that my Dad did for me. He was 91?92? when he did it, and has another for me that just needs some finishing touches. This one was his first...

Another embossed etching that just caught my fancy...you probably won't see the eggshells, especially the first (closed) and the fourth (abandoned)...

Two pieces of papier machee that Dad did for me, before he got into needlework... I especially love Tom, the cat...

My Mum did this needlepoint for me shortly after I moved out on my own...

This is the impression of Nibs's paw, that the vet made after he was pts, before he was cremated

oooo I love what I've seen so far!

This is my favorite thing in our entire house. It's a beveled glass heart from Hungary. It's quite large and heavy. It hangs over our bed to always remind us how fragile love is. It was my very fist Christmas present to Eric two weeks after we got together.

Under the cats, mostly.
We have so much in this house that is catty that i can't choose!! I think it'll have to be the ice-cube tray that makes cat-shaped ice-cubes!!
There isn't much in here that's mine, but between the two of us, we'll more than likely turn this place into cat's heaven!

This isn't exactly a thing I can show, but I do love it when I get it, and it is the opportunity to apologize to my wife when we have a disagreement and it is later shown that she is right and I was wrong.

It is sharing a type of love that means you don't have to be afraid to put your feelings out there for fear someone will step on them, or yell, "I told you so ! !".

She does the same for me.

Ok, I do like your statues but I am very impressed to meet another Female pinup fan!!
..I am the only one I know who is female! Many people ask if I am a lesbian if they don't know me but see the prints in my house..
Or they question my feminist tendencies as the work is considered quite sexist.
I just love the beauty and playfulness in 40's and 50's pinups like Vargas, Elvgren, Frahm, and then the women artists too (Pearl Frush, for example)

ANYTIME you wanna discuss pinups or show off your collection, pm me!!

I have never been asked if I was a lesbian, but I have had many funny looks and raised eyebrows. Alot of my husband's guy friends come in and they are like 'Wow, I cant believe your wife lets you have these'... and I of course tell them 'No guys, those are mine!'

I just think the female body is a beatuiful creation and I agree that the pinups from the 40's and 50's portray that wonderfully!

I am going to aim for one new piece a year, seeing as how they are quite pricey for someone who is trying to pay for college.

Scratch my last reply-for some reason I didn't even think of my artwork!

Here is my favorite animal portrait..

And here is Sir Edmund Hillary, conquerer of Mt Everest, handsome rogue that he was-I was up till 2 in the morning during a major hurricane doing this one..so far, he is my crowning glory. ( I had a heck of a time taking a picture of this, the flash kept reflecting off of the pencil, I hope he doesn't look twisted.)

When I moved away from home for my new job just a couple of weeks ago, I could only bring 2 suitcases with me. Which means that I couldn't bring much. But of all the things I did bring, I brought the most precious

My pictures of my furbabies past....

Honey..pasted away Nov/04..she loved to suck your shirt and chase icecubes

Tigger...pasted away March/05...he was the macho man!

and my beloved Muggins "Pooh Bear" pasted away April/04, she was my little marshmellow!

Those are the things that are precious to me.

I dont have pictures but my favorite things are paintings that are done on black felt, and have these antique looking frames around them. I got one that was my grandfather's and it is a bull and a bullfighter. It is sooo cool. I dont know how they even paint it on there and make it look so good. I also bought a big picture of sanfrancisco at sunset with the bridge for $2.50 at a garage sale
My grandmother has one of a forest scene with deer and I want it SOOOO BAD. But she wont give it to me :p Not yet anyways. I just love the felt paintings so much even though they are probably mass produced and cost five bucks at some souvenier shop somewhere.

Actually, Cassy, some of those can be collectible...!

They are considered very "kitschy" (tasteless or cheesy but sometimes practical art

I love them as well. I gave a bullfighter one to a friend for a birthday and love the Elvis and dogs playing poker ones
