What To Do???? Need Advice ASAP about my cats!!

I got a notice from my apt compex that for the next 4 days they will be working on my bedroom closet, linen closet and a small closet and that everything must be removed since they'll be replacing the posts, shelves, etc.

Normally when maintence comes to work in my apt, I put all my cats in the bedroom but that's out of the question for this so the plan was for me to put them in carriers then put in the bathroom for half a day while I'm at work (have some imp mtgs in the mornings or afternoons that I can't miss) then I come home immediately, let cats out of the carriers but keep in the bathroom until the men are done for the day then let cats out of the bathroom.

Today was the first day so I rushed home from the meeting and immediately let all cats out of the carriers IN the bathroom. To my shock, Spikey was growling and hissing and kept attacking other cats so I KNEW I couldn't leave him like that in the bathroom with others so as of now, I put him in a carrier and brought him out to the living room to be with me as I do work from desk while other cats roam the bathroom until the men are done for the day. I am thinking of letting him out of the carrier then if the men comes back to work, I can just grab him and put him back in the carrier.... But what if he immediately goes to the bathroom door and other cats finds out he's out and that drives them more crazy??

Do u have any better suggestions of what I can do about this??? I have asked the men if they could try to finish my apt in 1 day and they said no cuz they have a process that takes 4 days to do...

I feel so bad for my cats!!!!!!!!! What to do??

for four days? I don't have the money to board all 5 cats at the vets for four days...

Most of my friends lives too far, are allergric to cats, hates cats OR already have cats. I have already asked some friends and have had no luck...

Have feliway plugged into the bathroom and 1 in the living room...

I am really shocked at Spikey. He is usually the friendliest of all toward ppl but not today. I let him out of the carrier with me watching since there were no men in my apt working.. After a while, he stared at the door and started hissing like mad so I knew they must be coming so I grabbed him and put back in the carrier. One min later, the door opened! LOL..

Sometimes I don't need a doorbell to let me know when ppl are at the door since the cats always stare and behave differently..

The carrier is now at my feet as I type so he can smell me near him. He keeps shoving his nose thru the door at my leg/foot...

Awww you know if you lived nearer i would take them in no problem even though i have Rosie and Sophie. It's just making sure they were confined in a room away from each other

Guess I will just have to hang in there with the cats for the next 4 days.

i know this sounds unfair, but perhaps can you just board Spikey alone and leave the others as they are? Poor guy seems pretty stressed out. Talk to your furbabies, tell them it's only for 4 days, and give them losta lovin' and treats later on. i'm sure they'll understand.
Aww...i wished you were closer, i definitely wouldn't have a problem catsitting.

Maybe get a T-shirt nice and "smelling like you" and put that in his carrier?
