My cat Harry got hit about 2 weeks ago and has a broken pelvis. I had him at the vet last week who said he was constipated. I was to give him some petrolmalt I've done this but, now he hasn't ate in 2 days and looking very lathrgic. I called the vet she is booked till 1:30 today I can do a drop off visit. But, I'm just worried to death. Is there any way I can relieve his constipation. I know it's gross but, can you do an emina (spelling?) I thought you could squirt a bit of warm water up his rectum. But, I wouldn't do this unless I got some good info on it first. Anyone with any suggestions?? He actually lifted his head up but, I tink if I don't hear from anyone in the next 10 minutes I'm going to find a cat hospital that is open for ememgencies. THanks, Love, Hope

I think Harry needs to see a vet right away.....
I don't have any information on an enema for a cat, but it doesn't sound like the best idea. Good luck with Harry and please check back in with us and let us know how he is.

I do hope you were able to find help for your cat ASAP. It may not be just a matter of constipation.

I am so sorry for your loss. A broken pelvis sounds very painful. Poor Harry is at peace, now. What a tragedy to lose such a precious kitty!

Thank you again everyone! I hadn't been on for a few days just a bit too painful still. I know he is so happy now he was in so much pain and couldn't walk to the 10 days he was home with me. OK I gotta stop writing about him tears building up. Thanks again! Let me see if I can go help someone else on the site that seems to cheer me up. That or, go peek at the new kittens. Luv, Hope

Condolences on your loss! You did the best that you knew, giving Harry a chance at life despite his accident. I am truly sorry for him for what he went through - but now he is pain-free, enjoying his reward over RB, playing with all our other kitties who have gone before. A cat-size hole in the heart is hard to fill; maybe a couple of new kitties will help, before they get sent over RB. Rest in peace, sweet Harry!
