What to feed a Nursing Mama

What else besides kitten food should I feed a nursing mama?

The kitten food should be of high-quality and you should feed canned at least twice per day as well as leave dry down at all times. As a "snack", I like to boil a little chicken breast and chop it up for Lexus. She really loses a lot of weight and gets quite gaunt at about week 3 nursing babies. The chicken helps.

Yea Libby is already so small.. She doesn't seem to like like canned wet food. Maybe she just didn't like the nutro brand.

My experience is that many cats don't like the Max Kitten that comes in the 3-oz cans but they'll eat the Max Kitten in the 5.5 oz cans.

I don't understand this at all, but it seems to work.

They also usually like the Nutro pouches mixed with the smaller cans.
