Hi

I live in an apartment with a balcony where I place both nikki's food and water bowls in one corner, and the litter box at the other end. The litter box is right next to the base of balcony which is slightly raised to the same level as the litter box. I also use litter bags. Nikki has recently started to poop on the side of the litter box/balcony base. I've cleaned her poop and disinfected it, but she keeps doing on the side of the litter box next to the base of the balcony.

How i can tell her not to do this? Also, to cover the poop with litter sand? Sometimes, she just leaves her poop there and it really smells.

Don't place your food near your litter pans first of all. Not a good practice and could lead to health issues.

Don't use liners- instead get a can of PAM cooking spray and spray your litter pan inside bottom after cleaning. Wait a few seconds and then cover with litter.

Don't use scented litter (if you are)

Give her a second box, not just one

Get her vet-checked because she could have a health issue and this is one way of telling you
