When will they be weaned?

Hi

My kittens are now 3 weeks old, two of them have started to take an interest in soft cat food, I put a little on my finger and they ate it up like a shot!

When will they be ready to eat soft food constantly? Will mum cat just stop letting them feed off her? I dont know as this my first time at all this.

Thanks

What kind of soft food did you give them? When one of my mama cats was nursing and the kittens were eatting by themselves They were 6 weeks old. I wouldn't take them away from there mama until there at least 6 weeks maybw even 7 weeks old.

I just tried them with the tinyest bit of food that mum cat eats. They wont be taken from their mum for a long while but I read on a sit that from about 4 weeks they can be introduced to kitten food.

4 weeks is usually the norm for weaning kittens.
