Way to go, Sam! I'll bet you're sooo stoked!! You did really well on the test, but I already knew you were a smart girl. Have fun and be safe on the roads!!! (it's the other drivers ya gotta watch out for).

Conga-rats Sam!

Would your mom like us all to chip in and buy her a box of Clairol hair color to cover those new gray hairs that will be sprouting up real soon?
Just kidding!

Haha! Too late for that!

Thanks again everybody! I've been driving for awhile, I still need to master turning. I'm not very good at that & parking etc. I feel great behind the wheel though!
It's cool because Mum is keen to buy me a car so I've gotta get my thinking cap on!

CONGRATS!!!!

Okay, here we go with a few of the many tips I have learned in the while:

1. When you see an ambulance in the freeway with sirens on speeding off, get behind it! Its your excuse to go at 80 mph.

2. If you see the traffic light go at yellow, SPEED UP BEFORE IT TURNS RED!!!

3. If you see a long line of cars in the freeway all at 40-50 mph, you can wager the cost of a full tank of gas, that on the begginning of that line of cars you will see a state trooper that no one dares to go past.

4. You haven't learned how to drive until you are capable of taking a Ford F150 long bed pickup truck and manage to do a U-Turn in a narrow residential street without stopping in mid turn. (I did this rather wreckless low speed stunt once much to my father's chagrin, and to the destruction of the garbage cans of the neighbors).

5. Don't do any of these things while your mom, a driving instructor or the state examiner for the drivers license is on board.
(Its for their sake... my father is on the edge of seeing a psychiatrist with the trauma from my driving).

How exciting! My 16 y/o ds still has his permit, meaning he needs an adult in the car with him. When he comes home from his Dad's in the fall, he will get his liscense!

So in six months I can get my restricted, but that's Christmas Day! Lol!

Just wanted to share. I am so proud of myself. It was a theory test and I needed 32/35 questions right and I got 34!

Sam
Good for you! Did you learn how to Parallel park? I NEVER did and I am fearing the time I have a driving test!

Congrats, Sam! (And I hope you took Victor with a large spoon of salt!
)

FWIW, you might want to give some more thought to automatic vs manual. Even if you don't expect to drive a manual transmission regularly, there may come a time when you are forced to because of an emergency. Much better if you know what you're doing, and making the switch the other way (from a familiar manual to an unfamiliar automatic) is nothing like as difficult.

Also, manual is MUCH more fun!
unless virtually all your driving is in city traffic gridlock.

Anyway! Have fun.
