My 8 week old kitten seems to think that my toes are a good play toys when I go to bed. Anyone have an idea how to keep Sephiroth and my toes happy?

Ah yes, the dreaded toe mouseys under the covers! *grin*

With kittens, anything and everything that moves is fair game. You can try to engage baby in a VERY active play session about 30 to 45 minutes before bedtime and then put down her favorite food. Babies with a full belly will usually sleep soundly for several hours.

Hope this helps,

~gf~

Ok.. well last night I pulled out his favourtie mouse chew toy, and he mauled it instead of my little toes. He hopped up on the bed, and instead of pouncing on my toes he curled up next to me, curled into a ball, and went to sleep.

My "toe mice" thank you *grin*

That is too funny. I know someone that keeps toy mice under her pillow at night so anytime a cat decides to start attacking her toes she throws one!

My one year old cat does the saaaame thing, several times a day.
I hope she outgrows it eventually.

Good luck with the kitten on that!

well glad to see I am not the only person hunted by their own cat. LOL I was beginning to think I made a mistake by playing with him while making the bed

I fold the quilt back under my feet so she cant reach them - its just an automatic reaction when I go to bed now.. she seems to know when I forget because she only ever tries now when I have my feet unprotected!!

you could try sheets or blankets tucked in firmly under the matress at the base of the bed so she cant get under the bedding to reach your toes. Its really not a nice way to wake up, is it..

My toe mousies don't even have to be in motion for Sophie to pounce! Of course, she also attacks the pattern on the comforter...and I know it isn't moving!
Gonna have to try the mousie throw thing, if we're ever to get a normal sleep pattern going here again!
