Just wondering if anyone else here plays this? I started playing about 2 weeks ago. My friend had a game pad at her house and got me into it.

It is addicting!! But not only is it fun but it is a great workout. They have a workout mode where you enter your weight and it tells you how many calories you burn. You can also set up a diary with goals. It keeps track of your weight and how many calories you burn each day.

Today I burned about 300 calories -- and I have my goal set for 100!

Anyone else play?

I've played. I'm TERRIBLE, but it IS fun. Februa from this site is good at it, though. She played a lot with her roommates I think.....

Movin' on up!
I don't have the energy but, I was thinking of getting it for the twins. It might make a good Christmas present.

I've been playing it for like... 3 years? I'm pretty good but not GREAT, I don't do it often enough.
But it is SO much fun, and a good game to get you off your butt.

lol I used to be decently good (could pass 8 or 9 footers regularly) until I moved off campus where the machine was. Now its more effort to go and play, so I don't do it anymore! Basically DDR is a dancing game where you place your feet on one of four arrows according to the arrows up on the screen. It gets pretty hard, but its tons of run!

Do you buy the game pad that goes on a floor or ???
It sounds like fun...What game machine do you need to play?
(I am no gamer but if I could do the dance game thing at home and not at a club or arcade where every 16 year old is better than me, I might try it!!

I have to play on an arcade machine, because once you hit the second and third levels of difficulty, I have trouble getting the pads to stay in place. If you play on a non carpeted surface though, you might have some luck with duct taping the pads to the floor, or putting nonslip pads underneath them.

I love DDR! I havent played in a long time tho. I dont really want to play in the heat of the summer. Probably when it starts cooling off a bit ill start up again. I can only play on beginner and about half of the songs on standard. Im still getting better at it the more i play.

Yes you buy the game pad. There are some that are pretty cheap.. they usually come with a game when you buy it. I got one of the more expensive ones. It it metal and it's a lot easier to play on.

Then you just need a game and a playstation 2 to play on.

That's another big plus.. I would never do this in public!

Wow! I did not know it went with PS2! I must have one! I don't care if I look silly, it is a great workout. I need to do something, and it is just tooooo hot to walk. Thanks for the info.
