Ok, to start out... my mom and I have three cats.. Rosco, male, 19. Elliot, male 3, and Aerowyn, female 1.

Everymorning goes basically the same.

1. Someone in the bedroom moves, whether its me, my mom, or her boyfriend.

2. Aerowyn hears the movement, and either walks all over me if it is me, or goes and meows in front of my mom's bedroom door (because she keeps it closed all the time)

3. If Aerowyn happenned to be sleeping by me, or just not paying attention, Rosco will go in front of the door, and start meowing relaly low and slow because he wants mom to come out and give him food (he has to eat only soft food cuz of his teeth)

Now.. my mom opened the door this morning after hearing rosco meow, only to see aerowyn laying in front of the door, rosco not in sight. She though "Hey, well she probably scared rosco away" until right then she meowed again, and it sounds EXACTLY like rosco! I know this because the meowing woke me up too ....

So somehow... Aerowyn, a one year old female, with a higher voice... has somehow learned how to mimic rosco's (19 year old male) very low pitched an mournful meow, successfully getting my mom out of her bed in the morning, and opening the door.

Have you ever heard of cats imitating another cat's voice to get an action like that?

(sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasnt sure if it went in behavior or not)

I can't say I've heard of it, but it reminds me of when I was working at a pharmacy that shared a wall with the pet store. People would come in and pet the cats and coo over them, so the parrot learned to meow just like a cat. People would go looking for the roaming cat, and there would be the bird, pleased with itself. I don't doubt that your kitty learned to mimic Rosco.
