As far as food goes, I've been looking at trying to switch Leo over to Nutro. I caught him nibbling on Lola's food earlier today, which really surprised me, since he's turned his little pink nose up at Wellness, Felidae and regular Innova, though he'll eat Innova Evo. Since I'm noticing that he put on quite a bit of weight when he was at my parents' house (they must not have measured his food the way I instructed them to...grrrr) I want to get him on a lite formula.

I went to Petsmart today and noticed that Nutro seels two different sub'varieties of food, Natural Choice and Max Cat Gourmet. Lola is on the Max Cat...I must not have noticed the other formula. Which is more nutritious and what does everyone here (well, everyone's kitties, too!) prefer?

I prefer the Nutro Natural Choice line over their Max Cat, and use the weight management version with my guys.

I'm going to get the weight management for my boy.

My girlie is on the Max Cat, but she seems to be happy, healthy, active and growing. Her coat is thicker and more plush and shiny than when I picked her up and some of the spots where she had to get shaved (i.e. for her spay) are growing in thick. So, I think I'll keep her on that and switch her to NC when it's time for the adult formula

What's the difference between the two? Everyone says to use NC, but the Max Cat is somewhat more appealing in that it has more flavors, at least at the local PetCo. What exactly makes NC better?

I tried Nutro Natural and my cats wouldn't touch it. The morsels of the dry food was much too big for my cats
. I also tried Max cat and that was just sniffed and ignored. Good luck with the food.

I prefer the slightly higher fat content, sl. higher protein, slightly higher per centage of Taurine, and I prefer the ingredients in the Natural Choice.

Here is a partial list of both (the Max Cat Roasted Chicken Dry, and the Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care adult.

Max Cat:Ingredients
Chicken Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Wheat Flour, Ground Rice, Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E),
Ground Whole Wheat, Natural Flavors, Lamb Meal,

Nutro Natural: Ingredients
Chicken Meal, Ground Rice, Corn Gluten Meal, Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of natural Vitamin E), Dried Beet Pulp,
Natural Flavors, Rice Flour, Rice Protein Concentrate, Herring Meal,

Nutro Natural Choice Indoor now has smaller kibbles. Maybe they would like that better.

Max is designed for "healthy cats and kittens" the formula s are more flavorfule for a picky cat and there is a hairball formula for those whose only trouble is that..

Natural Choice is more for sensitive tummys , severe hairballs and the tastes are more basic...

My Kandie loved the max senior

Zoey uses NC cause she needs all the calories she can get
and had bad hairballs at first ..
