a lot of grooming !!

My cat emma seems to be grooming herself a lot. Every time I look at her she seems to be cleaning herself.. ? I don't remember her doing this so much before. She is approx 13 years old, and does not get outside. Is this normal ??

I would first keep an eye on her. Grooming is assocaiated with a few things. 1 is some sort of flea or mite. 2nd would be something stress related, they do it to help ease the stress. 3rd could be an allergy to something. I would check her over really good to make sure you don't see any flea dirt. I would also look to see if she looks redish in any areas. If she looks red anywhere, it's probably an allergy to something. If there's been a change in the house, it may be causing some stress. I would make an appt with the vet to have a thourough exam since she is getting up there in age. Make sure all of her body functions are okay.
