Does anyone actually get two weeks out of this stuff? We like it pretty well, but it's mostly broken down by the end of a week and is tossed and replaced. I suppose it would last longer in either a much larger box or more boxes (we've only got two at the moment) but seeing as how that would cost more initially to fill the boxes, I think costwise it would be 6 of one half-a-dozen of the other. The boxes are cleaned of poop pretty much immediately BTW.

Cindy, I didn't get much mileage out of it either. I liked it a lot especially when the kittens where little because they liked to get in there and play with it (yucko!!), but the truth is I get a lot more time out of the regular clay litter so long as I scoop each day (multiple times per day).

I get 2-3 weeks out of it, depending on how much your cat pees.

As long as you keep the solid waste cleaned out, you can use it until almost all of the pellets are turned into sawdust. It's remarkable how high it gets - that's usually my cue to change it.

That said, I use more than feline pine reccomends. I use one whole bag in the litter box. I believe the bag says to use 1/2 of one.

I'm a big fan of the stuff. It's great for the enviornment, Miss Kitty loves it, and the odor control is great - if I smell it, I know it's time to change.

Hmm, that's still a sort of a 6 of one situation since you're using more to begin with. You are saving the labor of weekly litter changes, but since I'm not in charge of that
(DH does that) I guess we'll let it be.

True, but I have to say - changing it isn't my favorite thing, LOL. Every time I'm cleaning up her pooh I look at her and sweetly tell Miss Kitty that she is the ONLY person in the world who's pooh I'd clean up, LOL.

Since FP is pretty cheap in my area, it comes down to about $1.25-$1.75/week for it, and I think what makes it worth it to me is that there is tons less scooping that needs to be done. Since the pee doesn't clump and all you have to remove is the solid waste, it's just a lot neater for me.

She seems to like it too - although I've had friends who's kitties didn't like it at all.

Kitties are people too, hehe - everyone has different preferences!

I'm a big fan of Feline Pine too, because of its odor absorbing powers. Usually lasts about a week, and they sell 20 lb bags of it. A friend just also introduced me to "Yesterday's News" that she uses with her kitty, which is the same sort of pellets made out of recycled newspaper. I've seen it at PetCo, and it might be a cheaper alternative, although without the scent of pine.
