Ok I have had Limerick for almost a year, he has been an only cat and very happy. My sister got a cat a few months ago. I have moved back home to find that not only do the 2 cats not get along but my family has not been letting to 2 get to know each other. They pretty much threw the 2 cats together saying "they will get along sooner or later". I have always said that the room I share with my sister is to be "Limerick's Haven", meaning a place Limerick can go without fear of the other cat bothering him. I have also suggested one cat have the down stairs and the other the up stairs, but all of these suggestions have been shot down. I am getting fusterated because I see Limerick so stressed out by the situation and I'm worried about the potential health risks. Ever since we moved back Limerick hasn't been the same. He won't let me hold him and when I do he cries and panics, and he won't cuddle. I don't know what to do, they don't seem to understand that this is not the way to introduce cats. It is breaking my heart to see Limerick so unhappy. I just don't know what to do to help him.

Although it won't be cheap, put a kitty door in your bedroom door, the ones with the radio controlled collars and only give one to your cat. Might cost $100, but it sounds like you and your kitty are having a tough time, and it might be worth it.

Far-out suggestion, but it might help!

I have some good new... It seems my family has seen the light so to speak. Limerick stays in the room while Able is out and we switch. Limerick is alot more relaxed and it helped that my boyfriend came up yesterday. Limerick was instendly happy ourring and rolling around wanted to get petted... really cute and refreashing to see. Hopfully it will be for the long term
