We all know this world isnt what it used to be. Its hard to find those places you could go to be alone. A hill overwatching a streem and tress watching the stars at night. Or a lone beach with you and your sweetie...

What are your dream places that either no longer exist because of laws, or are just to plain expensive!?

BTW- if anyone knows of any hills in minnesota that you can watch stars from, Without the orange glow of lights surrounding you, and not get arrested.. please let me know

I know of plenty of beach that you could go to late at night and be alone. Brendan and I did it all the time when we were still living at home. There's also a great little place by the river where you can watch truly beautiful sunsets alone.

When I think of a place that I'd really like to go, I usually imagine the ocean under a cliff, sea salt on my skin from the mist, a full moon over it all, suspended in velvet blackness. I've never been there, but I can experience it all just by closing my eyes.

There is a small area of rapids in the Savannah River between Augusta, GA, and North August, SC. When I was a teenager it was the place to go and hang out, swim, camp, party. It was so beautiful and unspoiled that some @#$% realtor bought up all the land and built ugly houses on it.

The Clark Hill Dam, also on the SC/GA border was once a beautiful, fun place to go. That was the Sunday afternoon hangout place for the 18-30 crowd. People would ride their motorcycles, there were people that would bring guitars and other instruments and entertain. My favorite was the little hippie guy that would fiddle Grateful Dead songs for beer. It was a great time for years, since at least the late 50s, until this same group of drunken idiots started coming around every week causing trouble and causing the cops to be called. One of them jumped on some out of town visitor's Harley, twice. The first time he was asked politely to get off, the second time he knocked it over, damaged it pretty severely, and ended up getting the crap kicked out of him. The the powers that be decided the hoodlums on the motorcycles were causing trouble and made it very difficult to get to, then ultimately closed it. It is now a parking lot. It broke my heart when it changed, I met my sweetie there.

Aw I'm sorry.
One day you'll get to go to your dream spot though, and it will be all the better because you've had to wait so long for it!
