Kittens 13 days old, stopped pooping, only peeing.. normal?

Foster kittens weren't being cleaned by mom. Mom's health fine by the way. I took her to vet already to check.

I have been wiping the kittens for her everyday since they were extremely smelly from #2's. Finally, they were too smelly and I washed them yesterday. After that, I no longer saw kitten poop on the towels and only kitten urine.

Maybe mom is finally cleaning up after their waste. Or is it normal for them to change from #2's to only pees? I tried to stimulate them today for poo and they only let out pee. Since mom wasn't very attentive before, I just want to make sure they are still pooping.

Big Question: I think mom is finally cleaning them. So, when you have litter of kittens, is it normal to never see the poop and only pees? Since she didn't clean them before, I saw poop everywhere on the towel. Everything being so clean is too weird.

She is probably cleaning them now but you should check to make sure by watching them. Maybe mama noticed that you cleaned them and got the idea??? It wuld not good at all if they were not pooing - they need to eliminate!

When I had foster kittens....I never saw poop or pee initially....then I started to find little poops..but I never found any pee so I'm sure the mom was cleaning them. Perhaps that is what is happening in your case. Did you call the vet and ask the vet's opinion?

Huh. I've yet to see one poop at all. My mom cat does a pretty good job of cleaning them, and only occasionally does she leave a little drop of pee sitting out there. Also, I've noticed that there's no smell at all. I thought this was because they were so young and still nursing (like human babies - their poop only starts to smell when they go to real food, it seems). Is my kitten's poop supposed to be smelly? ;-D

Thanks everybody! I'll just keep an eye. At least now I know it's normal not to see waste everywhere.

Scanvenger -- When mom doesn't clean their poos, it's extremely smelly! Pudding like poos and spread easily on fur. Mom got so matted I had to trim off some fur too. I had to wash her too, still smelly after wipe. Pew.

I'm very hopeful she's a normal mommy now!
