So we went to the vet... Max has gained about 6 pounds in the 6 months we've had him! Where he used to be underweight, now he's just about right, a bit more and he'd be a bit overweight but for now he's fine.

The vet came to the conclusion that it's an allergy... but to what, he doesn't know and said it would be hard to figure out. Max got another steroid shot and if that helps, the vet said we'll look into antihistimines, etc. to help get him through it. I really hope it helps. If it doesn't help, then the vet said we might have to consider the fact that Max is just neurotic, which could be tied to his "fraidy cat" self.

He also has always had dry flakey fur so he suggested fish oil... but I didn't buy the $40 bottle he was trying to sell me, I bought an $8 bottle at Petsmart.

So that's all. Not sure what to think of it.

Hi, have you tried eliminating (for 1-2 days) any kind of food he usually gets, one at a time to see which could be the problem?

Good to hear Max is in a healthy weight now.
Hobbes has a little dandruff too, and i add a few drops of this to his food. So far it seems ok!

I was thinking I should do that... I have an all life cat food for Jordan, maybe I'll start giving that to all the cats for a while.

Oooh, they sell that at my local health food store where I buy my cats' wet food... I'll have to get that next time I'm there. Thanks and thanks for my fabulous new signature!
