When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me--but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me--But Let me Go

My deepest condolences for all your pain and loss

Willowbrook, thank you so much for this poem. I haven't lost any furries recently (knock wood, they're all getting up there) but I did lose my mother 7 weeks ago. Those who know me well know I do not cry easily, and I have not yet truly mourned that loss, but this poem touched me very deeply. I can hardly type for the tears in my eyes. It is exactly what she would expect of me.

I pray it comforts others in their loss, furry or otherwise. Thank you again.

That is beautiful, Willowbrook. Thank you so much!

RicaLynn, I am so sorry you lost your mother. How terribly sad! Feel free to IM me if you want to talk. I've been there, and 3 years later it still hurts sometimes!
