I took Finn and Darci to the vet for the first time since I got them from their foster mom. I was a mess, they were so scared I know I had tears in my eyes because I felt so helpless to sooth them. I felt like an idiot.

$189.00 and 17 minutes later they had their rabies shot were proclaimed healthy except Finn needed antibiotics for an ear infection. I have to take them back in ten days for spaying and neutering,

Here is my question:

Their foster mother told me they were brother and sister. The vet told me he did not think so because Finn probably got the ear infection from his mommy and Darci did not have it. Is it possible that one could have it and the other not? I am about 92% sure they were born in the foster mom's home and she should know if they came from the same mom.

Thanks!

Finn and Darci

I am not sure what one having an infection and the other not has to do with them being sibs? Close proximity? I've seen litters where one kit would be ill, another not. They are indeed beautiful! Maybe give them some treats when they go to the vets - tho it will hard post spay and neuter - so they know they will get goodies after a visit to the funny smelling place?

Because something is infectious doesn't mean that all who come into contact with it will end up with an infection. I think your vet's assumption was groundless.

I don't know enough about genetics but they sure look different from each other in every way I can see.
But again, don't look to me for expert advice on the topic of litters

exactly! Perhaps Finn has more sensative ears? I don't think that's a cause to believe that.

Thanks, I do not really care they are sweeties and the best present I ever got myself - even better than the sportscar. Loveysmommy, I did not know this so not trying to be insulting you if you did, but as I now understand it they can have the same mom and different fathers and be born in the same litter. So that can explain the difference in the look. After I posted I thought who cares they are the same family now - mine!
