My parents detest the idea of keeping the cat in the bedroom where humans sleep (because of hygiene reasons). i'm interested to know what you guys think

Hobbes sleeps with us in our room at night, with the door close. He usually sleeps through morning, so we don't really have to worry about him wanting to use the litter box. He has a few spots in our bedroom: his own bed, under our bed, and between us ON our bed.

So, do you allow your cats to sleep with you?

Yes, there is nothing like a little fur body next to yours (and I don't mean Johnny, Pearly!

I voted other because I didn't like the way option #3 is worded. "Absolutely not! The bedroom is off limits to cats" I keep my bedroom door closed because otherwise Elmo comes in and piddles all over everything. When it is kitten season I have cats snuggling with me though because the kittens are birthed in my room.

With 6 cats and a huge dog, as many animals as can fit on the queen size bed will sleep with me.
Always the dog, and usually at least three cats, sometimes all of them, not always the same cats.

I said -Ok in the bedroom, but not on the bed. - because that's where DeeDee sleeps 95% of the time. Every now and then she sleeps on the corner of the bed, but I do get a morning snuggle

Yes, yes, yes! Oliver sleeps right next to my face with his head on the pillow or curled up by my stomach
... my mom bought him a flat bed (basically a furry pad) and he was only spotted on it like twice when he lived without me at my parents' house... I just bought him a lambswool snuggle ball from Dr.s Foster and Smith - It got here about 10 minutes ago and right now he's more interested in the box it came in than the 30-dollar bed! I hope he starts to like the bed! He's also taken to recently sleeping in my ladybug bean bag chair... but at night, it's up in the bed with me!

I chose other because the kits don't sleep on the bed when the dogs are up there, not enough room. However, when the pooches go out, they're up on the bed in a flash to claim their spots.

I can't sleep at hotels because I'm so used to having cats all over me. KC on my hair, Snickers by my side, Hammie smashed up against Zorro who is closeby on the bed; Jessie at the end and Dusty just across from KC!

Matter of fact when I was in the hospital ('no cats allowed'), a friend of mine brought me a stuffed cat to sleep with cuz I missed the little buggers.

I miss having kitty sleep with me - it is my fave part of having a cat!

but, I need sleep more, and she likes to attack my feet while I sleep.
If I nap though, she's great. She sleeps on my back and rests her head on my cheek.

I hope when she gets older she'll sleep with me all night sans interruptions.
She has just recently learned however, to break down the bedroom door when my alarm goes off in the a.m.

Awww Sam. Although my mom has a cat, she doesn't really allow him to be close to the bed. i think mainly because he's an outdoor cat. He goes back indoors after 9pm and sleep at home. However they still believe he carries germs and what not from outside, even though he's still clean and everything, he's not allowed in the bedroom. So unfortunately for Luckie the cat, bedroom is off limits to him

i however love snuggling with the furbabies.

I voted other because...

Baylee USED to sleep with me. She will take a nap with me but maybe once a month will she sleep with me (and always, under the covers, by my feet).

Max used to battle Bay to sleep by my head when he first arrived... now he sleeps with me once every 2 months.

Jordan is stuck in the bedroom with us until he's integrated into the household. He falls asleep on my chest or neck and I have to move him onto the bed, where he usually sleeps in the middle.

Scaredy does sleep on the bed, or should I say he jumps on the bed and all over me.
Garfield is a good cat and sleeps very quietly at my feet but as soon as Scaredy jumps on the bed Garfield goes off the bed.

Sometimes. Zoey's bed is on the corner of my bed. She will start out in bed with me...but as soon as I turn off the lights she ususally takes off to explore the rest of the house.

Sometimes when I wake up she is there....sometimes she is not.

I rather enjoy seeing her there when I wake up.

Mooch and Noodles don't get to sleep with me. Unfortunatly DH is allergic so I figured he needs a place we keep as hair and dander free as possible. Plus they are still into chewing cords if they are alone too long so they sleep in thier big kennel still.

I love to sleep cuddling my crew, and slept with James, my persian, on the pillow all through his life- but the three Raggies are very nocturnal and don't get the idea that I need to sleep about seven hours without playing, so sadly I have to shut the bedroom door at night. Hoping as they get older they'll want to play less through the night....we do enjoy the occasional afternoon nap together though, or if I curl up on the bed to read all four come and curl up too. Usually on the book.

While it's 100+ here lately, we've not been too willing to cuddle. Generally, though, Charlotte, Pie and Esse sleep on the bed (or on me). Simon sleeps next to me, within paw's reach.

Pengy sleeps on the trunk under the window. Maybe she'll sleep with me someday...or at least come on the bed.

Best-
Michele
