i dont think that hot weather is a danger to black cats because my cat she goes out side all the time and she is fine as long as she has enough water

I don't think so. My black cat, Katie, is 12 and the hot, humid weather here doesn't seem to bother her anymore than my other two.

Yes, I think it does. My black cats have a tendancy to get hotter faster - I can tell by the panting that comes on quite easy.

IMHO, they should not be out during long or during the hottest parts of the day.

Buffy loves the heat, and if there's any hot spots around the house (like sun spots), you'll find her sleeping on them. Willow, on the other hand, who is a dilute tortoiseshell (with light grey), she HATES the heat and just can't handle it. She prefers the cooler weather. It's odd, you'd think the black ones wouldn't be able to handle the heat and cooler ones would be fine ('cause lighter colors reflect heat), but it's the other way around in this house. Maybe it's the coat density thing: Buffy is a shorthair while Willow is a longhair. Hmm...
