My cat has been dealing with severe allergy problems and wasn't eating as much. Her "belly" area seems the same size but when I pet her back, it feels slimmer somehow. Am I imagining this or can cats lose weight that way?

When Snickers was sick, he lost a few pounds, and it seemed he lost it in his back. He still has a little bit of a jiggly belly (he was FAT when he was younger) but you can definitely feel his spine through his shag fur.

It seems to me it's all gravity related... the fat kinda dropped down or something and his back got boney.

I never thought of the fat drooping before, but that does make sense. I guess cats, like people, can lose it in different places. Thanks.
