As many of you know I have a very old 17 yr old and a very young 17 months cats...

Kandie is a dlh

Zoey is a bengal mix

I am looking for an ideal buddy for Zoey so maybe Kandie wont die of a heart attack from the Hyper active adolecent...

Breeds I have thought about
Bengals
Savannahs
Siamese
Snowshoe
I have experience with Siamese , Snowshoe and Bengal/ mix

Any and all ideas welcome....

I am thinking purebreed or hybrid just due to Zoeys activity level ...

I have two animals from the shelter and not adverse to that but I need to have a clue on activity level and that is hard with shelter kits ....

Have you considered a Chausie? They are hybrids for a lot less than a Savannah. I got my F2 high percentage Chausie for thousands less than a like Savannah would have cost.

My Chasuie is 4 months old. He is active but not as active as my Bengal. I also have a Egyptian Mau and an Ocicat. The Bengal is my favorite because he is sooooo active. The Chausie keeps up, but it still a baby and gets tired faster.

It's hard to try and match activity level. If your cats are too far apart on the activity scale the high energy one ends up picking on the low activity cats. My Bengal picked on my Ocicat all the time until we got him the Chausie to chase around. Now our house is finally balanced. The lazy cats sleep and the crazy cats get into everything......

I wish my kids were as predictable.....LOL

Have to say it...you really should consider an American Curl, or an apparent American Curl. I can't say enough about the breed, and there are all too often rescue Curls available.

if you're wanting a high energy cat then I would go for the Siamese or Aby

definitly not Persian/Exotic/Birman/Ragdoll or British for you

That's for sure.

Aby or Somalil. Abyssinian are considered to be most energetic. And Somalies are just Abys with long hair, so they are also very energetic.

I have a Turkish Angora and they are very playful and active. They stay like that when they are older too. I also have a Ragdoll and he is far less playful then my Turk
He is lazy

I think that is to be expected from the breed description. But you haven't met a lazy cat until you have met a Persian. I got two, and they are definetly not the breed for someone wanting an active cat.

By the way, both your Turkish Angora and your Ragdoll are stunning.

well if your looking for another bengal my queen is due in approx. 3 weeks - wink, wink, hint, hint LOL
no but seriously I would have to say the bengal of course. I would love to have a savannah myself I can't lie. I just don't want to pay the savannah price!
Im getting a spinx (hairless) female kitten pretty soon! I can't wait! Now to try and find a spinx stud for stud services in this area. Don't know that i'll find one. Dont really want to get seriously into breeding spinyxs since I breed bengals but would'nt mind having a couple of litters.

I am partial to the modern siamese. My siamese are quiet (with the exception of when they are in heat). Siamese are very loving and very loyal. They usually bond well with other cats.
Savvanahs are too big and fierce for me.
