Just noticed the date: 20 July 2005

I have two anniversaries today, one sad and the other not sad at all...

It was 5 years ago today that Samantha (in my avatar) disappeared

It was 2 years ago today that I joined TCS

And here I thought you were bringing up the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Even Google had Google Moon today.

Thanks, Stephanie. This is a good place to hang around when one is feeling fragile, and for some reason I'm feeling more fragile about Sam this time than I have for a while. Oh, well -- it'll pass.

I realized not long after that post, why it was that I was feeling more fragile than usual -- and at once, felt better. Suzy meandered in. Sam was her litter mate, and Sooz looked for her for a long time, I think. She's more of a homebody than she used to be, but still wanders some, especially in the warm weather. We had noticed in the morning that we weren't sure when she had been home last, so she was in the back of my mind all day, even before I realized the date. It was a relief to see her when she came in.

It's good to be able to come here and process this stuff among people who don't need the gut feelings explained.
