I was laying in bed last night...lights off..completly dark...(yasmine loves to play with beaded necklaces) Anyways-- i found one in my bed so i started playing with her and its like she knew exactly where it was even though it was pitch dark. I've always wondered what it looks like through a cats eyes??!?! Anyone else? They have night vision, right?

I would say they have night vision since they are naturally nocturnal. Joey is the same way where he knows where everything is at..except I don't exactly like to be in pitch darkness so I sleep with a lava lamp on..but like out in the living room where it is pitch dark..that's where he likes to hide from me..after all he is a black cat.

I'm the exact opposite, I've GOT to have it dark. I've got blackout curtains on the windows of the bedroom in fact.

DH just about insisted that he didn't think the cats could see in the dark, no matter my protestations that they're cats, fer cryinoutloud! So we had an LCD nightlight in the bedroom that to me lit it up like daytime in there. I was using a sleepmask which is uncomfortable for me, but better than the light. I finally got him to try it without the night light one night, and lo and behold! The kitties had no problems with anything.

It's nice to have my dark back

Cats cannot see in complete darkness, but they can see in relative darkess. They need very little light to be able to see since, as it has been pointed out, they are nocturnal by nature.
