Do you think most people on an average are polite?
Yes I do!

However there is definititly a VERY bad bunch of bad eggs - this idiot emailed me yesterday and I was livid for the rest of the night.
Absolutely Yes!
I hope this number grow up!
On the whole, I think yes -- though there are days when I wonder
post #5 of 26
Yes, I definitely think so. It's just easier to remember the incidents where people were impolite than those when they were.
On average, Yes, most people are polite...but of course there are always those that have no manners what-so-ever!!
depends on the part of the country i am in
post #8 of 26
Hmmm. There are days when I have my doubts. Some states are worse than others, but I won't say who..
But on the road, driving? Not really.
Yes, but not as much as they used to be.

Hmmmmmm... why am I tempted to say no? It might be an even split with the rude people making things look worse.
I am from Jersey so we do have some "impolite" people.

But don't get me started on the driving here!!!
I know I am rude. Not on purpose, I just forget my please and thank yous when I am in a hurry.
Usually.... But as in any situation. There are some bad bananas that spoil it for every good bunch.
no... I've seen the public... LOL
No. Only dignified and sophisticated people like the ones here on TCS!!
No. I think most people are polite to those they know, but are more willing to be rude to strangers or people in the service industry (like clerks or cashiers). It's not that hard to say "thank you" or "have a nice day" to someone who has helped you.
Most people are, but there are a few for certain that aren't!

But if I get lost....... who's going to find me?
Awwww....poor Wyan! Don't worry hon.....the guys in the white coats know just where to find you (and me too, I'm afraid, lol!)

But I agree with Christy about being polite to people in the service industry.....and if you ever wonder why a clerk is surly sometimes........think about the people that she has to deal with! Even I have been known to lose my cool because of a rude customer!

But on a whole....I'm not convinced about the majority of folks being polite...sorry...
In general, yes.
I think it depends on what part of the world you're in. I just got back from New Orleans and *everybody* down there was happy, talkative, sweet and VERY polite!!! They look you in the eye, all that warm southern 'cajun' hospitality. I almost hated coming home, cuz here in Cincinnati, it's just not as warm & fuzzy as Nawlins is.
depends in which country
On average, I'd say yes. However it depends greatly on where I am and the situation we're in.
