The family's 1963 Dodge Station Wagon was "Little Red Wagon". If that car ever started to talk, my sister would have had to leave town. As it was, when the wagon was on the way to salvage yard, the guy just happened to pull it by sister's house and she was able to say good-bye.

Sis bought a 70s vintage Duster from a friend and niece and nephew drove it. Light blue and black, it was christened the "Blue Bomb". Butt ugly, but their most dependable vehicle until nephew drove it into a ditch (we think on purpose to kill it!).

Nephew's girlfriend had a car that was missing its gas cap. She stuffed a rag in and it became "the Rolling Molotov Cocktail".

Bro-in-law's dream truck was a dually (four rear tires for the uninformed). But when he had to get a new truck, all he could afford was a Chevy S-10. He named it "Baby Dually" and made a sign for it - "When i grow up, I want to be a Dually!"
DAmmit Jan, you made me spit coke all over my carpet!!

I ain't cleaning it up!

Nephew married that girlfriend and if we had known then what we do now about her, we would've prayed for that car to explode!

Many named vehilces over the years.
Most memorable were Bruno the Autoslayer and Science Friction.
Science Friction was an Artcar that I loved dearly, and I miss him.

If you are not familiar with artcars, just google the word artcar.
You can also check out this rather old article.

I will one day create another, but like all art, I have to wait for just the right car to come along.

I would thoroughly enjoy an old Astin Healy, or maybe another old Mazda or Subaru to work with.

Do you have any pictures of you ArtCar? I don't live too far from the Rhode Island School of Design, so we see ArtCars on the highway quite frequently!

My first car that I bought when Iw as in college was a Pontiac T-1000 (Same as a Chevette). My friends named it "Baby Car" because of its size. My current car doesn't ahve a name, but my husband has named his Envoy "Big Boy".

Unfortunately, all of my photos from those days were stored in my basement when it flooded.
You may be able to find some in the of the West Coast collections of artcar photos.
I know there are a couple of coffee table books, dunno if Sci ever made it in any.

....We have good memories of boths!

My aunt has a bright yellow beetle... with tweety painted on it!! (It's very embarassing, really) The headlights are big blue eyes, the roof has a few hairs and the hatchback has a tail. If I didn't hate tweety.. it would be a pretty neat car. But unfortunately every time I drive in it I have to duck my head to make sure noone sees me in it!

I first read the title of this thread as 'do your cats have names??' and was thinking, ummm, who's don't?

I don't have a car, but if I did, I imagine I'd name it.

My 1st car, a 1986 Dodge Omni, was known as the Whalermobile because I was constantly going down to Hartford Whaler games. Unfortunatly, it was a red car (and would match the current Carolina Hurricanes color scheme) and not green or blue. I miss the team more than the car.

There's a car in my family that's known as the Clown Car. It's a 1995 Geo Tracker, white 2 door softtop convertable. It's gone from my sister to my father to my brother. It actually is a great car for either parking in the city or getting around in bad weather. It just looks like something that should be in the scrap heap.

My current car (a silver Saturn) doesn't have a name, even though it's my favorite one I've had so far.

My first car was an '86 Olds Calais. It was so old, the fabric liner on the ceiling was falling down and I could hardly see out of the rearview window. We called it Amy's Ghettomobile.
My 2nd car was a '96 Red Civic. It was so cute. I called it "The Copmobile" because it is true- police DO like to pull over red cars most frequently!!!
