Is it normal for them to eat off the floor?, my cat eat half of his raw food off the plate then he wants the rest of it to be put on the floor before he eats it.

I try to keep my cats from eating off the floor, because often what happens is they become little Hoover vacuums and they suck up everything on the floor they can find. Try feeding on a cookie tray.

That sounds like a good idea.

i put a placemat under Hobbes' bowl, sometimes he likes to bring food out of the bowl, and eat it on the mat. That'll limit his "floor area" to the mat area only, he doesn't bring food further away than his placemat.
