As many of you might remember, I took one of my cats to the vet a week ago because his inner eye lid wasnt opening all the way. The vet said that he had either a cold or conjunctivitis and gave me amoxicilin and an eye salve. Well- his eyes arent any better and now his litter sister, Archie, has the same thing. I have no clue what to do now...They seem to feel wonderful, but the eyes look funny. Please advise. I must admit that I am exhausted. You have probably seen my post on my oldest cat who is really sick. I have to wonder if these things are related..Please let me know if you can think of anything.

Ok, the vet just called me back and said that my baby girl has caught it from Terrell
So he advised me to put her on the same medicine. Please say double the prayers. This is all so overwhelming.

J = consider yourself on the prayer list! I hope everyone turn out Ok soon! The cats may need a different type of antibiotic. When Ripley had continual eye problems that were raging, the Vet tried two different ones, before things got better. I wish I could think of the name of the one that worked - it started with a C.........

It's kinda like kids in school. When one gets something, it goes around. You can imagine how cautious I am since I now have 12 in the house. The one thing you should remember is to make sure they get the antibiotics as prescribed as well as the ointment for the eyes. Normal is at least twice a day for both. It usually takes at least 4 to 5 days for the eye to start healing. There also might be a chance the antibiotic may need to be changed as Debra said. Some strains react to different antibiotics. I hope they are both feeling better soon!!
