Need Help! Kitties are losing hair and other

My husband and two girls brought home two wild kittens from the Grandparents farm. Well they both have missing fur on their paws and their tail has strange scaly like grunge. I've peeled some of this off and it is raw underneath and VERY painful to the kitten. I've never seen this before and don't know what to think of it.

I'm for sure taking them to the vet but sure wondered what was going on.

Any ideas????

Take them to the vet, that is the best move. Until then, leave the scabs be.

I can't say without seeing the kitten, but I would say it could be the sort of thing that are infectious to humans. So, don't touch it and take them to a vet ASAP.

OH yucky. I hope it's not contagious. Eeek. Yep they are going to the vet tomorrow. Could this be mange?
