Something odd with my sig?!?!

I hope this makes sense as I am really confused

When I remade my sig a while ago it was 20.54K and still is according to PhotoShop. When I asked for it to be checked in the siggy check thread it still was even with the text.

Tonight I checked it again out of curiosity (I just made someone else a sig) and it is coming up as 38K I have not touched it since it was fine. I have no idea if this is my IE playing around or my sig suddenly grew with no help from me

If anyone has an idea what could be going on PLEASE let me know! Also please let me know what it is coming up as for you.

This is seriously frustrating, I will fix my sig if I have to, but for it to suddenly change size makes no sense and that worries me.

Thanks

It's coming up as 38 Kb for me, too, Ash. And it's not IE messing up on you -- I'm using Opera. Beats me why the size would change, though.

Hey Ash... your siggy is 37.13 KB (38016 bytes)... And I am on Netscape.

37.13 for me too, hun, using Firefox.....weird, isn't it?

You haven't touched it? You haven't re-opened it in Photoshop and then re-loaded it to your photo host for some reason? Hmmmm ... That's the only thing I can think of that might do this OR something that just occurred to me ... is it maybe the size of a previous version that you have at the same photo host? You might want to check and make sure that this is ACTUALLY the sig pic you wanted, I guess it's remotely possible that one of the sites (TCS or your photohost) might have loaded a back-up that was slightly older with the URL of a sig pic that you'd had up earlier.

I thought of those things too

This is the only copy of my sig that there is. The one on my computer is still at 21K like I said, and no one has touched it.

I thought Brandon possibly had done something since he uses my Photobucket as well but he hasn't used it since before I made a new sig.

Well, I will go in and try to figure this out, but if the mods don't mind can it stay like this for the afternoon? I don't have time to work on it till I get home from work tonight.

Thanks everyone!

I'm also getting 38 K - very weird.

Do you still have the original psd file in photoshop? i could help you check it if you want.

Ashley, I've tried to resize your siggy several times this evening by reducing the dpis, and uploading it to my Photobucket account. It's not working. The smallest size I can get, using 60 dpis, is 31 KB. That's very weird. Perhaps the color density has to be changed?
Reducing the colors leaves this (23 K):

Perhaps somebody with Photoshop can get better results.
Maybe this one will be better:

Yes - just under 26 KB, and clearer than the one with reduced color density. Can you copy that, or do you have to link it to my Photobucket account?

Try this? i had it resized to 21k, but quality wise i think it's pretty much the same. Still 72dpi. Hope that helps...

If you havent changed it i am getting right under 27 on my computer.

I'm getting 25.9 now.

It has been changed in the meantime, which is why you're getting 25.9.
